FLASHBACK: White House Ordered EPA to Lie About 9/11 Pollution Danger

In the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center, the White House instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to give the public misleading information, telling New Yorkers it was safe to breathe when reliable information on air quality was not available.

Modern Health Care System is the Leading Cause of Death

Not heart disease, not cancer--doctors. In all fairness, doctors themselves are not to blame for all of this. The entire modern health care system, however, is responsible for allowing, even promoting, so many unnecessary procedures, drugs and mishaps.
A family member recently went through a monumental medical screw-up that resulted in permanent damage. So this article is not as far off base as it may initially sound. - M. R.

FLASHBACK: White House edited EPA's 9/11 reports

At the White House's direction, the Environmental Protection Agency gave New Yorkers misleading assurances that there was no health risk from the debris-laden air after the World Trade Center collapse, according to an internal inquiry.

Bill aims to make national water standards voluntary
The Safe Drinking Water Act makes it voluntary for plumbing companies to comply with national standards. If your water is tainted with lead, there isn't much you can do about it. The manufacturer probably won't be liable and probably can't be sued.

Legacy of Treason Depleted Uranium and the Poisoning of Humanity
n recent years I have become aware of the issue of depleted uranium (DU) and its use by the US Military in Iraq in 1991 and again in the current Iraq war. The photos of birth deformities and stories of suffering resulting from DU shocked me, reminding me of the Agent Orange victims of America's Vietnam war.

It is undoubtedly by far the most significant issue on the planet today, and yet the mainstream media stays quiet.

Japan anger over U.S. beef grows
Mad cow disease is formally known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or BSE. In humans, eating meat contaminated with BSE is linked to variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare and deadly nerve disease.

Japanese inspectors plan to tour 35 U.S. meatpacking plants to ensure the facilities comply with Japanese import regulations before allowing American beef back into Japan.

A group of U.S. senators has proposed legislation that contains a nonbinding call for trade sanctions unless the imports are restarted by the end of the summer.
So the Japanese inspectors will get a "dog and pony show" of 35 meatpacking plants. What about the other meatpacking plants they won't see? And what kind of threat are these to the health and well-being to the American consumer?

About a century ago, Upton Sinclair wrote "The Jungle", about stomach-turning conditions in a meat-packing plant, and this was a real spur to start inspection of plants and animals before beef wound up on our dinner tables. Consistent inspection is a way to prevent this illness. We know it: the cattle associations know it. Will it raise the cost of beef? Probably. But ultimately, is it worth it? - M. R.

Teaching robot dogs linguistic tricks
The most important aspect is how it learns to communicate and interact. Whereas we humans use the word ‘ball’ to refer to a ball, the AIBO dogs start from scratch to develop common agreement on a word to use to refer the ball. They also develop the language structures to express, for instance, that the ball is rolling to the left. The researchers achieved this through instilling their robots with a sense of ‘curiosity.’

Medicine at gunpoint: Seattle mother arrested for "kidnapping" her own baby to seek alternative treatments
Public trust in conventional medicine has plummeted to such an all-time low that the industry is now resorting to the threat of violence in order to market its services. Gunpoint medicine is alive and well in Seattle, Washington, where county law enforcement officers, prompted by Child Protective Services (CPS), arrested and jailed 34-year-old Tina Marie Carlsen for her "crime" of rescuing her infant from overzealous hospital staff who demanded they perform kidney surgery on the infant.

Health risk fears over sex hormones in imported beef

The hormone drugs have been banned in Europe for 20 years but they are still used in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chile.
This gets back to my theory that the so-called "obesity epidemic" in the United States is caused by chemicals added to food, including synthetic bovine growth hormones, which are then transferred to the consumers who eat those meat and dairy products. - M. R.

CANOLA OIL

Canola oil, or otherwise known as Canadian, Rapeseed or Lear oil (low erucic acid rape) is used in fuel, soap, in synthetic rubber, as an illuminant for slick color pages in magazines, and as a lubricant or penetrating oil. However, its main use is in thousands of processed foods and salad dressings because of its low cost.

Erucic acid contained in Canola oil is toxic to humans and animals in large amounts. Our bodies may be able to metabolize it in smaller amounts but is it worth the danger of creating future problems?

Rapeseed is a member of the mustard family, one of the most toxic of all plants. During World War 1, they used it to make Mustard gas, and banned it later because it blisters lungs and skin. Rapeseed oil was used in animal feeds between 1986-1991 in Europe and banned because of related illness in most animals.

Canola oil is high in glycosides, which inhibits the function of enzymes. Most people may not feel the effects for many years but when the digestive tract is clean, you can experience some reactions shortly after.

Past times when rapeseed was used it was unrefined and symptoms were not experienced. Some researchers feel the long chain of fatty acids in Canola oil (c22) causes high cholesterol levels and destroys the myelin sheath of nerves that causes a rare fatal degenerative condition called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ADL).

Canola Oil: Good or Bad? Newsletter July 20/01 - Susan Van Dueck - Japanese researchers found that the life spans of rats fed diets rich in canola oil were 40% shorter. Canadian federal scientists have spent the last 3 years and $730,000 trying to alleviate fears linking canola consumption to hypertension and stroke. Health Canada insists that although their tests match the Japanese data, canola poses no risks to humans.

CHLORINE

Chlorine does not kill all the microorganisms or oxidize other chemicals. They still continue using it, knowing that all reactions with organic material forms carcinogenic compounds of chloroform, dibromochloromethane and trihalomethanes. Its been known since the 1960s that chlorine is detrimental to ones wellness.

Chlorine dioxide approved by FDA is a good biocide, but is unstable, volatile and poses some of the same hazards as chlorine. Chemicals used in our day-to-day lives for drinking and food processing, end up in streams, lakes, and in our drinking supplies. In time, this contributes to the destruction of our ecosystem and the ozone layer.
